Privacy Policy

1. Our Privacy Philosophy

TrailNest: Camping Journal is built on a simple principle: your trail stays yours. We do not require accounts, we do not sell your data, and we do not run third-party advertising or analytics SDKs inside the app.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

All camping data you create—trips, gear lists, journal entries, photos, RV logs, expenses, and vehicle records—is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device storage framework. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to sync or export it.

3. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you are signed into iCloud on your device, TrailNest: Camping Journal can sync your data across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service (container: iCloud.com.codemxm.trailnest). This sync is handled entirely by Apple under their privacy terms. We do not operate our own servers to store your camping records.

If iCloud is unavailable, TrailNest safely falls back to local-only storage. Your data remains on your device.

4. In-App Purchases

TrailNest Pro subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and managed by RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device identifier to validate your purchase and restore entitlements. We do not receive your payment details—those are handled entirely by Apple.

An internet connection is required only for purchasing or restoring TrailNest Pro. All core app features work offline.

5. App Lock

TrailNest Pro includes an optional App Lock feature that uses Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Biometric authentication is processed locally on your device by iOS. We never receive or store your biometric data.

6. Notifications

TrailNest can send local notifications for trip departure reminders and vehicle maintenance due dates. These notifications are scheduled on your device and do not involve any server. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app or iOS Settings.

7. Support Communications

If you contact us at hi@codemxm.com for support, we receive the information you include in your email (such as your email address, message content, and any diagnostic details you choose to attach). We use this information solely to respond to your request and improve the app.

8. Website Analytics

This website may use privacy-friendly analytics (such as Plausible Analytics) to understand general traffic patterns. These tools do not use cookies for tracking, do not collect personal information, and do not follow you across other websites.

9. Data Export and Deletion

You can export your complete camping data as a JSON v2 backup file at any time from within the app. To delete all your data, uninstall the app from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, you may also need to remove TrailNest data from your iCloud storage in iOS Settings.

10. Children's Privacy

TrailNest: Camping Journal is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
